Position

Position of the player in poker means where the player is seated and this can also have implications on the poker strategy. If the player is seated ‘very early’ and he has to act before any of his other opponents then it is known as “out of position”. But if the player is sitting at the end and has to act later, the player is said to have ‘has position’. In a clockwise order, the player ‘has position’ to the ones who are sitting on the right of him.  The ‘early’ players are at a disadvantage since they have to act and play before anybody else. They have no chance of knowing what others will play and they have no information about their opponents’ hand. As the game progresses and with the number of players reducing, those sitting in the ‘late’ position are in a favorable position and their chances of winning increases as they can act and play after looking at their opponents play. The blinds, small and big blinds are very money loosing position. They are the fist ones to bet and though they have an advantage in the first round of play, in the other rounds they will have to act before any of the opponents.
