Isolation

Isolation play is mostly used against players who are always aggressive. It is designed to encourage other players to Fold so as to have a one-to-one encounter with a specific opponent. If an opponent has Raised and a player suspects him of bluffing, he may re raise and pressurize other players to fold so that he may get head up against him. A short handed game has different strategy. Short handed is when few players are playing at the table. For this type of game, players must loosen up their play. ‘Loosening up’ means to play more hands. Since there are few players, there is a less likelihood of a player with a stronger hand.  Also in this game, each player’s share of forced bet is high since there are fewer players. It mostly happens in tournament style of play.
