Betting styles

Players can be loose or tight; the betting styles may be aggressive or passive. One of the key is to understand the type of your opponents. A player must understand the most dominant style of playing on his table and then he can alter his strategy accordingly. Aggressive playing is known by Opens and Raises where as a passive player Calls and Checks. Passive players very rarely Raise and when they do, it means they have the best hand. They are more consistent and often predictable than aggressive players. New players should always play tight and aggressive game. Looseness of a player is shown by is how many hands a player plays. Aggression means to Bet and Raise. Calling is not aggressive play. Tight and aggressive play means a player folds all the bad hands and chooses the starting hands selectively. With this kind of play, a player will have a better chance against the opponents. Aggressive play is considered superior to passive play in general as it offers more opportunities to opponents to make mistakes. but if passive play is a part of deception technique employed by a player, then it can be called an aggressive play. Even with a good hand, a passive player of the game will Call in the initial rounds so that he does not give away his cards to the opponents.
